Turnaround time is approximately three weeks. I do not typically post sneak peeks and will not post anything on social media until payment is made in full.
How long will it take for our images to be ready?
Each family that books with me will have access to my client closet and personal styling service! I can help pick outfits or you can do it on your own.
What do you recommend we wear?
While I prefer to shoot newborn sessions in my studio—where I have full control over the lighting, temperature, and easy access to my entire collection of props and wraps—I am always happy to discuss your vision! If an in-home session is something you feel strongly about, please reach out and we can chat about the details to see if it’s the right fit for your family.
Do you offer in-home newborn sessions?
Contact me to schedule! We will then begin planning the perfect session for you and your growing family! The non-refundable session retainer must be paid to confirm.
How do I book a session?
Don't worry! While those "squishy" poses usually require a sleeping baby, wide-awake portraits are just as beautiful. If your baby is alert, we’ll capture those gorgeous eyes. I have plenty of tricks as a former nurse to help soothe even the most alert babies into a nap eventually.
What if my baby won't sleep?
The "sweet spot" is typically between 5 and 14 days old. During this window, they are still very sleepy and retain that natural curl from the womb. If your baby is already older than two weeks, don't worry! We can still get beautiful images, though the session may lean more toward "lifestyle" and wrapped posing.
When is the best time to photograph a newborn?
It is never too early! Because I only take a limited number of sessions per month to ensure flexibility for early or late arrivals, I recommend booking while you are still in your second or third trimester. Booking while pregnant ensures that your due date is on my calendar; once your little one arrives, we will finalize the exact session date together. If your baby is already here, please reach out as soon as possible, and I will do my best to squeeze you in!
How soon should I book?
It is very common for newborns to have skin flakes, minor acne, or little scratches from their nails. There is no need to stress—I provide professional retouching on all your final images to ensure your baby’s skin looks its best while still looking natural.
What if my baby has baby acne or a scratched face?
Life with a newborn is unpredictable! If someone is feeling unwell or there’s an emergency, please let me know as soon as possible. We will work together to find the next available date that works for your family.
Nurse's Note: If your baby was born prematurely or had a NICU stay, we will adjust our 'session window' based on their adjusted age rather than their birth date. Their comfort and health always come first!
What if I need to reschedule?
Absolutely! Many parents realize after their newborn session just how quickly these moments fly by. You are more than welcome to upgrade to the First Year Experience after our initial session. We will simply apply your newborn session toward the package and get your baby's future milestones—like sitting up and the first birthday—on the calendar!
can I decide after the newborn session to join the First Year Experience?
