As a mom myself, I understand how important it is to feel comfortable and confident in the clothes we wear, especially on picture day.
Choose an outfit that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Don't be afraid to dress up a bit! Flowy, empire-waist, maxi dresses are a fantastic choice for photos. They are flattering on any body type and allow you to move and play with your kids while looking amazing.
Soft or neutral colors often photograph better than bright, bold colors. Bright colors can sometimes reflect on your skin, creating an unwanted color cast. Avoid bright red or any neon colors for yourself or any member of your family.
Places I love to shop for women: Amazon, Baltic Born, Altr'd State, Zara, Free People, Joyfolie, Roolee, Indie & Co, Anthropologie, Piper & Scoot, Worth Collective
A well-fitted shirt and jeans or neutral pants are a classic choice for men. If you want a more relaxed and comfortable look, avoid formal wear like dress shirts and khaki pants.
Sweaters, quarter-zip shirts, henleys, and fitted t-shirts are all great options that complement the rest of the family’s outfits.
Stick with a solid color top if mom or kids have patterns. Plaid shirts are great if mom and kids are in solids and we need to add some visual interest to the wardrobe.
Places I love to shop for men: Old Navy, Gap, Target, J.Crew, Kohls
Comfort is key. Ensure your children are comfortable in their outfits. Avoid clothing that is too tight, too loose, or itchy.
I love bubble rompers on littles ones, dresses on girls (the flowy-er, the better!), and henley's on boys. There are so many adorable options out there, so have a color scheme in mind before you start searching to help you narrow down your options.
I have several outfits available in the client closet for kids newborn to size 10.
Places I love to shop for babies & kids: Zara, H&M, Old Navy, Target, Rylee & Crew, Ivy City, Janie & Jack, Carters
Places I love to shop for teens: American Eagle, Abercrombie, Altr'd State, J.Crew, Hello Franki
Don’t forget about shoes! Your kids’ everyday sneakers will most likely not complement their outfits. Consider investing in a pair of affordable shoes to complete their look. You can find great options at stores like Walmart, Target, or Amazon. Brown or gray shoes are great for boys and short boots or Mary Janes for girls.
Hairbows or headbands on girls are always a great option. However, I don't recommend a bow that is bigger than their head. I love a natural-looking fabric bow more than a nylon/ribbon bow. Check out Little Poppy Co. for great options or reach out to me and I can guarantee I have a bow you can use.
I love a good hat! I have a few hats options if you're intersted in accessorizing with one, or you can bring your own.
The client closet is often changing, so feel free to reach out if you have something specific in mind that you would like to see available.
